Project Details
The fifth level of Western Psych was converted from an administration area into the Facilities Diagnostic Evaluation Center (DEC) and a 12-bed Behavioral Health Patient Unit. Staff stations are placed in the middle of the waiting areas to increase patient visibility. Areas are designed in soothing colors, with an increase in natural light to create a more calming atmosphere. There is a milieu room for children that contains computer game stations, a wall projector, and seating areas. The adult milieu room is done in soothing shades of blue and green with televisions and a digitally displayed fish aquarium to help create a more controlled environment.
